KITTY IN PRINT

KITTY JOSEPH Some people look at the world through pink glasses, we definitely do it through glitter ones. Thanks to British young designer Kitty Joseph we can do it literally.

Kitty is a Royal College of Art alumni from 2011. She made her diplomma on Textile Design so no wonder her main focus is making hypnotizing prints. Since her graduation she has collaborated with Zandra Rhodes, Piers Atkinson, Lady Gaga, M.A.C and Carine Roitfeld. You may have unconsciously worn her designs in the past as Kitty created prints for DKNY, Marks & Spencer and Hiroko Koshino

Her first full seasonal collection was for Autumn/Winter 2012 for which she took inspiration from the chaos of nature: the cells and texture of stones, wood, marble, clouds and whatever Mother Earth can produce.

Kitty likes to keep her collection balanced. The richness of prints is calmed down by simple, sometimes sporty silhouettes: glitter body-con dresses and leggings (we love them!!!!), psychedelic print A-line tunics, minimalistic bomber jackets. She tricks us with severe kind of girlieness.

Autumn/Winter 2012

Spring/Summer 2012

Her debut Spring/Summer 2012 collection was an experiment with modern art's technique of chaotically splashed colours. She emphasized them on simple minimalistic sporty cuts. We particularly love the neon accents - hypnotizing!

After two RTW collections we are sure we'd like to follow Kitty Joseph's future paths. Definitely there is something about British young designers and we love it!
