SUNFLOWERS

RODARTE Once upon a time two talented sisters Kate and Laura became inspired by famous Vincent Van Gogh's masterpiece "The Sunflowers". The influence by the painted series was so strong that both sisters decided to pay a tribute to the beautiful yellow sunny flower. They invited it as a guest of honour to their Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Oh so Coco! Sunflowers give her some extra powers!

Among all the great masterpieces Vincent Van Gogh created, his most known ones are the Sunflowers. Two series od paintings were made by him in two years period, from 1887 to 1889. The first one, from Paris, captured sunflowers' natural and fresh beauty while the second one, made in Arles, shows them withering in a vase. It is said that the artist suffered from depression but the Sunflowers series was created during his "optimistic" period. We believe they gave him happiness (and so they do to us in the Rodarte version!)

ORLANDO/ORLANDA

Tilda Swinton by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin

Do you remember her role of Orlando/Orlanda in a movie adaptation of Virginia Woolf's "Orlando" from 1992? Plato wrote that Androgyn is the only perfect unity (from which women and men were born as incomplete beings) with a great balance of femininity and masculinity. Perhaps that's why Tilda is so intriguing? Anyway, we love her long red locks with a delicate almost make-up free face in this picture!

LULU FROST

LULU FROST There are two Lulus in this world that we truly admire. Obviously one of them is Lulu Guinness (the creator of cute lips clutches) and the second is a person responsible for making our hearts beat faster as soon as we see her amazingly sparkling and colourful pieces of jewelry - Lulu Frost, unofficially known as Lisa Salzer. Let's dig into her captivating treasures!

100 year necklace

Lisa Salzer founded her brand in 2004 in New York. It's been a natural choice for her since the Frost family (especially her grandmother Elizabeth Rock Frost) had run an estate jewelry business for many generations. The talented designer shares her passion for vintage and antique pieces through her magnificent collections. We love her chunky "collage" necklaces that mix floral motives with Art Noveau style shapes and extremely feminine flowery earrings.

Lulu Frost's designs have been appreciated by leading fashion titles such as Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Interview, W, Nylon and many more.

The colourful jewelry designed by Lisa have gathered many fashion forward admirers. Even when you feel gloomy there is always something to put a smile on your face. For us it's a nice colourful piece of sparkling precious!
