SUNFLOWERS

RODARTE Once upon a time two talented sisters Kate and Laura became inspired by famous Vincent Van Gogh's masterpiece "The Sunflowers". The influence by the painted series was so strong that both sisters decided to pay a tribute to the beautiful yellow sunny flower. They invited it as a guest of honour to their Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Among all the great masterpieces Vincent Van Gogh created, his most known ones are the Sunflowers. Two series od paintings were made by him in two years period, from 1887 to 1889. The first one, from Paris, captured sunflowers' natural and fresh beauty while the second one, made in Arles, shows them withering in a vase. It is said that the artist suffered from depression but the Sunflowers series was created during his "optimistic" period. We believe they gave him happiness (and so they do to us in the Rodarte version!)
